This vase is a spectacular and dramatic showpiece, featuring writhing dragon figures around the entire mid-section. Their “tails” act as handles for the vase. In Chinese art, the dragon motif is a powerful one signifying imperial rule. No doubt this artist intended a modern interpretation of this theme.
